Dashboard overview
The Portfolio tab in your client portal is the central view for your investment account. It displays:- Total account value — the current market value of all holdings in your account combined.
- Daily change — the dollar and percentage change in your account value since the previous business day’s close.
- Allocation breakdown — a visual representation of how your portfolio is distributed across equities, fixed income, and alternative assets.
- Individual holdings — a list of every security in your account with key details.
Performance metrics
Your portfolio displays two distinct performance metrics, each suited to different questions about how your investments are doing. Time-Weighted Return (TWR) measures how the portfolio itself performed, independent of the timing or size of your deposits and withdrawals. TWR reflects the return generated by your investment strategy — it’s the most useful metric for evaluating how your portfolio performed compared to a benchmark. Money-Weighted Return (MWR) shows your personal rate of return, accounting for when you deposited or withdrew funds. If you made a large deposit just before a market decline, your MWR will be lower than the TWR for that period. MWR reflects your actual experience as an investor given the specific cash flows in your account. Both metrics are shown for multiple time periods: 1 month, 3 months, year-to-date, 1 year, and since inception.Holdings
Each row in your holdings list shows the following for a single security:- Name and ticker — the full security name and exchange symbol.
- Current price — the most recent closing price per share or unit.
- Quantity — the number of shares or units you hold.
- Market value — the total value of your position (price × quantity).
- Gain / loss — the unrealized gain or loss on the position since purchase, shown in both dollar and percentage terms.
Statements
Monthly account statements are generated automatically and made available in the Documents section of your client portal. Statements are provided in PDF format and include a summary of account activity, beginning and ending balances, transactions, and performance for the period. You can download statements going back 7 years from the current date. If you need documentation beyond that range, contact your advisor.Portfolio values shown in your dashboard are as of the previous business day’s market close. Intraday price changes are not reflected until the next end-of-day update.
