This guide covers the day-to-day actions you can take in your Genius Capital Group investment account, from depositing funds to updating your preferences.
Making a deposit
To add funds to your investment account:
- Go to the Funding tab in your portal.
- Click Deposit Funds.
- Select a linked bank account.
- Enter the deposit amount and confirm.
ACH transfers take 2–3 business days to settle. Wire transfers are processed the same day if submitted before your bank’s cutoff time.
Requesting a withdrawal
To withdraw funds from your investment account:
- Go to the Funding tab.
- Click Withdraw.
- Select your destination account.
- Enter the amount and confirm.
Standard withdrawals process in 3–5 business days.
Withdrawals from tax-advantaged accounts (IRA, Roth IRA) may have tax implications. Consult your advisor before initiating a withdrawal from these account types.
Updating investment preferences
You can message your advisor directly through the platform’s Messages tab to request changes to your:
- Risk profile
- Target allocation
- Specific holdings restrictions (e.g., ESG preferences)
Your advisor will review the request and follow up to confirm any changes before they are applied.
Setting up automatic contributions
Setting up automatic contributions lets you benefit from dollar-cost averaging — spreading your purchases over time to reduce the impact of market volatility.
To configure recurring deposits:
- Go to the Funding tab.
- Click Auto-Invest.
- Choose your contribution frequency: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
- Set your contribution amount and start date, then confirm.
You can pause or cancel automatic contributions at any time from the same screen.
